Sushi

Sushi is a globally popular dish, deceptively simple (it does not have many ingredients) yet can be tricky to make at home. Awesome sushi starts with a correctly made rice and includes specialized ingredients. Luckily, everything you need is easily available in the DMV area, either in major supermarket chains or in specialized Japanese grocery stores.

In this class, we will go over the full process of making sushi, from making and seasoning the rice to rolling maki (hosomaki and uramaki) and making temaki, with various types of inclusions (fish, imitation cram, raw and pickled vegetables) and seasoning. Miso soup, traditional Japanese kani salad, and Japanese-style ice cream will complete the meal.

The class is hands-on and limited to 5 people.
